[PenDems (209)] VOTE next Tuesday!

Just an encouragement to all to participate in the upcoming election on June 29.

This is a non-partisan election but you are encouraged to support
and vote for those that share our good Dem values!

Just a fr-instance, our own Bonny Petersen is engaged in a competitive runoff vote
for a seat on the Rapid City Council and has asked for help with yard signs
(see below for areas she wants to make sure get covered).

[PenDems (208)] Penn Dems Update

Good Afternoon fellow Democrats!
 
There will be NO monthly meeting of the Pennington County Democrats this week.  There seems to be too much else going on for everyone. 
 
Here are a few dates to keep in mind...
 
Friday, June 25 and Saturday, June 26 - SD Democratic Party State Convention in Sioux Falls.  Penn Dems VP Jenny Sorenson will lead our delegation at the convention.  We encourage everyone to consider attending.  Its a great opportunity to meet our party leaders and help develop our Party's policy platform.  For more information please call the State Dem office at 605-271-5405.
 
Tuesday, June 29 is the special city-wide election to determine the Rapid City Council seats and vote on the proposed BID/Downtown improvement project.  These are non-partisan races, but we encourage everyone to turn out and participate in the election.
 
July 22 - Regular Penn Dems Meeting 7pm at the IBEW labor hall.
 
I hope everyone is having a safe and fun summer, and I wish you all a Happy 4th of July!!

Pendemorandum

Thursday June 10th at 7 pm, IBEW hall at 922-1/2 E. St. Patrick.
Special meeting of the Pennington County Democratic Party.

The purpose of this meeting is to elect county officers for 3 positions: county party chair, state committee woman and state committee man.

The agenda is as follows:
1. Call to order
2. Election of county party chair
3. Election of state committee woman
4. Election of state committee man
5. Completion of state convention delegate slate
6. Adjournment.

All Democrats in Pennington County are welcome to attend and stand for county office.  Only precinct committee men and women may vote in the election.

REMINDER:
Tuesday June 8th is election day.  The democrats have 4 candidates whose races will be decided tomorrow.

City Council:
Patti Martinson in Ward 1
Bonny Petersen in Ward 5

RC School Board
Jeff Nelsen and Daphne Richards Cook are on the ballot in Area 6.

Please remember to vote!  Our local elections can have a dramatic impact on our local government and schools.
