Movie Saturday Apr 5: For The Bible Tells Me So
Saturday April 5, 6:30pm, at The Journey, Rapid City
Winner of the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Seattle International Film Festival, Dan Karslake's provocative, entertaining documentary offers understanding to anyone caught in the crosshairs of scripture and sexual identity. If you come you'll definitely meet some like-minded PenDems, some of whom are taking part in the panel discussion after the movie!

McGovern Day, April 19, Sioux Falls
Join fellow Democrats from across South Dakota at the Sioux Falls Convention Center for McGovern Day Celebration 2008! The days events will include a breakfast to support our long-term Statehouse efforts, a luncheon featuring Congresswoman Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin, afternoon training sessions for candidates, precinct workers, and advocacy organizations, and culminating in a dinner honoring Senator Tim Johnson. Watch for announcements about special guest speakers and ticket sales! To sponsor parts of the event or advertise in the program or contact the SDDP at (605) 271-5405.

The April-May PenDem Voice is on the street!
The PenDem Voice newsletter should be arriving in your mailboxes. We are also encouraging folks to sign up by email or blog (to conserve trees, lower the PenDem "carbon footprint," and (of course) save up money for the 2008 election). You can view the newsletter online, on the West River Blue Blog.

Register a new Democratic voter today!
With the Presidential contest and all these great local Dem candidates, this is a great year to recruit independents and young voters into the Democratic fold. Many Independents and thoughtful Republicans are seeing that our Democratic values are what the nation needs right now to get our State and Nation back on the right track. Pennington County Dems will kick off a grassroots organizing effort to register voters before the historic June primary. Especially in Districts with uncontested races, we have a window of opportunity to get many more Democrats registered to vote in the Presidential Primary, so they will be with us in the fall! Watch for news on happenings in your legislative district over the next week.
