Having collected more than 9,400 signatures to refer South Dakota's Abortion Ban to voters in November, the Campaign for Healthy Families announced today that it has organized a petition signing day in Rapid City this Saturday, May 6th.

"The petition drive is going extremely well," commented campaign co-chair, Nancy Phipps. "We now have over 1/2 of the signatures needed to qualify for the ballot. Every day, we receive requests from South Dakota voters who are interested in signing the petition and want to know where to go. By organizing a petition day this Saturday, we hope to give everyone in the Rapid City area a convenient opportunity to sign the petition."

Volunteers will be available at four public locations in Rapid City on Saturday. Anyone interested in signing the petition is encouraged to pull in to one of the locations. Those who are unavailable on Saturday can visit www.sdhealthyfamilies.org or call 605-221-5642 to learn about other petition signing opportunities.
